Feel Like Royalty With A New Countertop…

With all the hype going on in the media about the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton, I thought I would take advantage of it and add some hype of my own by showing some Royal Colors.

As many of you know, there are literally hundreds of colors to choose from, when it comes to granite, and even more if you include other natural stones. There are, however, a few that stand out, when it comes to color, “Royal Color,”  that is. If you’d like to add a touch of class and sophistication to your home, you might want to check some of them out for that upcoming project. No doubt you will feel like royalty with one of these color selections in your home.

Royal Colors:

Emerald Pearl

Gold and Silver

Juparana Royal

Royal Red Onyx

Blue Pearl Royal

Cinderella Blue

Royal Cream

Splendor Gold

Open Your Eyes And See…

In our showroom, we get asked a lot of questions about the fabrication process. It is however, one thing to try and explain how it works, and another to actually see it in action and take it in. I have to admit, most days, I just take for granted the whole fabrication process, as I am busy doing my own things. Sometimes I need to remind myself to take a few minutes and really open my eyes to everything going on around me. When I do that, I really notice the efforts of our whole team.

The fabrication process, involves a variety of steps and processes and a whole lot of teamwork. We are grateful for our team and the work they do, and are proud to provide you with a beautiful product. Please feel free to stop by our showroom for a visit. We are always happy to help with your countertop needs and to answer any of your questions.

Following are a few pictures I took “with my eyes wide open” in our shop area that show a variety of countertops/projects:

Granite Countertops—Spotlight On Golden Crystal

In this blog, I wanted spotlight the color, Golden Crystal, which is quarried in Brazil.

Golden Crystal Granite

Golden Crystal is one of those colors that can contain a lot of flow, movement, and coloring, and can vary from lot to lot. While Golden Crystal contains a variety of colors throughout the stone, gold and rust are the most predominant colors seen. I didn’t realize this, until I read a fellow bloggers post, but the gold and rust tones are actually caused from water that has penetrated into the stone through small cracks and fissures, which cause the iron oxide and other minerals to oxidize. This process however, happens over millions of years.

Since Golden Crystal is a neutral color, it would work well for a kitchen, bathroom, bar room, etc. If you are attracted to golden tones, like myself, you might want to take a look at Golden Crystal for your granite countertops, island, vanity, or bar top. It not only will look great, but will be a great topic for discussion.

Add Some Style To Your Countertops With A Farm Sink…

When it comes to purchasing a sink to go along with your countertops, farm style sinks have become a popular choice. While farm style sinks have traditionally been used when decorating in a rustic, or country style, they have also become fashionable for homeowners that just want to add some style, or a different look to their kitchen. Farm style sinks, or apron front sinks, as they are also known, are typically 17″  deep and 30″ to 33″ inches wide forming one large sink, which some consider easier to clean.

Farm style sinks come in a variety of colors and sizes and are also available in a variety of material choices making them work with a number of kitchen styles.

Following are a few photos of several recent projects we fabricated and installed that incorporate a farm style sink:

Recipe: Sky-High Brunch Bake

Here’s good recipe I came across on the Kraft Foods website that would work great for an Easter Brunch, or a special breakfast.

Sky-High Brunch Bake
1 pkg. (17.3 oz.) frozen puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed
6   eggs, beaten
1 cup POLLY-O Original Ricotta Cheese
Dash  hot pepper sauce
2 pkg. (10 oz. each) frozen chopped spinach, thawed, well drained
4 slices  OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cooked, chopped
1-1/2 cups KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 cup  chopped red peppers
HEAT oven to 400°F.

UNFOLD pastry sheets. Roll out 1 sheet to 11-inch square. Roll out remaining sheet to 12-inch square; use to line bottom and side of 9-inch springform pan sprayed with cooking spray.

RESERVE 1 Tbsp. eggs. Mix remaining eggs with ricotta, pepper sauce and spinach. Layer half each of the bacon, Cheddar, ricotta mixture and peppers in crust. Repeat layers.

COVER with remaining pastry sheet; fold under edges of pastry, then tuck inside pan. Brush pastry with reserved egg. Cut slits in top crust.

BAKE 45 to 55 min. or until golden brown. Cool 10 min. Run small knife around edge of pan to loosen crust before removing rim.

Enjoy and Happy Easter to all!
