Recipe: Peppermint Chocolate Fudge

Here’s a good recipe to try for the holidays, if you like chocolate, and more specifically fudge. This recipe combines both chocolate and peppermint flavors into a delicious treat.

Peppermint Chocolate Fudge

2 cups Nestles milk chocolate chips
1 cup Nestles semisweet chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
Dash of salt
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
3/4 cup hard peppermint candy, crushed

Line an 8″ x 8″ square pan with foil. Grease foil. In a saucepan, over low heat, melt milk chocolate chips, semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and salt. Remove from heat; stir in peppermint extract. Spread evenly into prepared pan. Sprinkle with peppermint candy. Chill for 2 hours or until firm. Turn fudge onto cutting board and cut into squares.

P.S. If you like recipe’s, make sure you check out and purchase our cookbook, Indulge 101 Recipe Favorites for others. Keep in mind that profits from the cookbook will be donated to www.healinghaiti.org

Granite Countertops And Bump Outs…

Many customers these days, do their homework before purchasing, especially when it comes to remodeling a kitchen. Sometimes customers bring in pictures of granite countertops they’ve found in magazines, or may mention a look they’ve seen on the internet and want to incorporate it in their kitchen. One such example is a “bump out” at the sink, or other area.  If you are not familiar with a bump out, it is an area that basically jets out further than the rest of the perimeter of the countertops.  Bump outs are fairly popular and add emphasis and character.

Following are few examples of bump outs, that I wanted to share:

Many customers, these days, are looking for convenience when they shop, especially when it comes to a remodeling project. Making multiple selections for products at one place, often saves time, and money. At PGC, we give our customers the opportunity to select their material and colors for their countertops, as well as the opportunity to make sink and faucet selections, for this very reason.

When it comes to sinks, we feature Magnum sinks for kitchens and vanities. We also sell Elkay, Kohler, and a variety of other makes and models. For faucets, we feature Kohler kitchen and bath faucets. We also sell  a variety of other makes and models. We hope you stop by and check them out.

If you are browsing the internet for faucets, you might want to check out the Moen site. According to the December 2010 issue of Kitchen & Bath Design News, Moen recently won an award for outstanding achievement in web design from The Web Marketing Association.

Granite Countertops—Spotlight on Gold & Silver

In light of the Christmas season, I thought it would be appropriate to spotlight the colors silver & gold, a popular Christmas song. In fact, there is color available with the same name, just transposed—Gold & Silver, which is quarried in Brazil.

Gold & Silver is a popular choice for consumers because it offers several neutral tones, as well as adds a touch of warmth. Gold & silver also contains some areas of mica that add a bit of sparkle when the lighting hits the stone just right. The color, Gold & Silver, would work great for a kitchen island, countertops, bathroom vanity, or fireplace surround. If you are interested in Gold & Silver, or another color, please stop by our showroom. We are happy to help you in your material selections.
